What is material flow?

Material flow refers to all movements and processes that materials and components undergo within a company – from goods receipt to assembly.

Material Transport

Internal material handling places high demands on flexibility and efficiency, especially when supply routes are long. Tugger trains are becoming increasingly important in this context and enable the simultaneous transport of containers of different sizes (¼-, ½-, and Euro pallets).

Depending on the route, floor trolleys, shelf trolleys, or – for long distances – taxi trolleys are used. In combination with KLT lifters, the ergonomic handling of small load carriers (KLT) is optimized and a smooth flow of materials is ensured.

The increasing variety of products in production makes efficient material supply essential. Station systems (supermarkets) in the material flow ensure supply according to the FIFO principle and function similarly to flow racks.
