REACH Regulation: Safety & Transparency at ORGATEX
At ORGATEX, safety, quality and compliance with the law are central components of our corporate values.
We develop and distribute products – not chemical substances or mixtures – and therefore comply with the requirements of the REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006) in accordance with our role in the supply chain.
What does REACH mean?
REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals and regulates the safe handling of chemical substances in the EU.
The regulation applies to both:
- Fabric manufacturers
- Importers
- Formulator
- downstream users
- Retailers of products
Products may contain substances, but are not themselves subject to registration requirements.
Our role under the REACH Regulation
ORGATEX does not trade in chemical substances or preparations. All our products are articles as defined by the REACH Regulation.
Products cannot be registered.
Only individual substances that could be found in products are subject to registration.
Therefore, ORGATEX is not directly required to register under REACH.
As developers, manufacturers and distributors of organizational resources, we are considered a **downstream user** under the REACH Regulation.
Our tasks as downstream users include, among other things:
- to inform our suppliers about the application areas of our products
- to coordinate customer applications if they are not already known to us.
- to ensure that the substances used have been properly registered
- to keep the supply chain transparent and compliant
We are in close contact with our suppliers regarding this matter.
To the best of our knowledge, we do not use any materials or substances that are not registered under REACH or will not be registered in the future.
What does this mean for you as a customer?
- ORGATEX products are not subject to any registration requirement .
- You will receive products that are manufactured in the EU in compliance with REACH regulations .
- We will inform you if a product contains relevant SVHC substances above 0.1% (according to Article 33 REACH).
- We regularly monitor the ECHA's SVHC list.
- We will provide documents and conformity documentation upon request.
This ensures transparency, product safety and legal compliance.
